Seniors LINK is an AWECC program to connect older residents (over 50 years of age) from refugee and migrant backgrounds, to with each other, and to the community. The group aims to reduce social isolation, loneliness or lack of connection that many older migrants may face. The program also aims to help participants overcome perceived or actual barriers, such as cultural and language differences, lack of transportation options, ageing and illness, and reduced mobility.
Participate in various activities, including art and craft, music programs, cultural events, excursions, yoga and exercise, and more! Transport and interpreters are available. The group meets monthly, and anyone from a migrant or refugee background aged 50 years and older is welcome to attend. Participation is by gold coin donation.
