OPINION
By P. Ayyagari 7 August 2018 In response to Andrew Bolt’s inflammatory article in the Daily Telegraph on Thursday 2nd August 2018 titled “Foreign Invasion”, I would like to make a few comments to dispel some of the distorted and biased opinions. Join Professor Andrew Markus (Monash University), author of the annual Scanlon Foundation social cohesion reports, as he presents key findings from the latest national survey at a public presentation in Albury-Wodonga. Professor Markus will share insights about Australia's growing ethnic diversity, including contemporary social issues such as immigration, discrimination and multiculturalism. He will also discuss the current balance of Australian opinion towards multiculturalism and common factors that enhance (or erode)community harmony. This FREE public presentation will be held in La Trobe University's main lecture theatre and will be followed by afternoon tea and coffee in the foyer. Booking through Eventbrite is essential. It is the first long-term study of humanitarian migrants to Australia and to date has released data from the first three waves.
