AWECC has been successful in its bid to fund its 'Multicultural Seniors LINK' program for 2018-2019! The Victorian Government's Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) this week confirmed it will grant $10,000 to AWECC to fund the program through its 'Participation for CALD Seniors Grant' program.
AWECC Chairperson Sue Portors, has this week written to federal member for Indi, Ms Cathy McGowan AO MP, asking for her continued support for the multicultural communities of the Border and North East as she continues to negotiate with Australia's new Prime Minister, the Hon Scott Morrison, and his government.
The Albury-Wodonga Ethnic Communities Council (AWECC) has an upcoming opportunity for a young person from a refugee background to complete a one-day per week, three-month summer internship with its community advocacy team. The successful intern will commence in early November 2018 and will be required to attend and actively participate in the Emerging Leaders’ Summit in Beechworth Victoria between the 8th to 11th November 2018 (valued at $1500).
Albury-Wodonga Ethnic Communities Council is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for members to join its seven-member volunteer Board. Board meetings are held after business hours each month, in Albury or Wodonga. Expressions of interest need to be submitted no later than 5pm on 29 September 2018.
