1) Senior Community Advocacy Officer
2) Community Advocacy Officer.
1) Senior Community Advocacy Officer
FTE
0.6 22.8 hours per week
Contract period
February 2020 – December 2020
The Senior Community Advocacy officer will be responsible for managing the operational and financial requirements of AWECC to ensure delivery of various community capacity building programs, events and forums. Undertaking advocacy opportunities for emerging and established migrant and refugee communities. The role will include liaising with internal and external customers including, but not limited to:

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to human rights, multiculturalism, and community empowerment.
- Previous experience working with CALD communities, especially refugees and migrants.
- Previous experience in a management role.
- High level written and interpersonal communication skills
- Appropriate qualifications and/or equivalent experience in social sciences, health, education, management and social services.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in research and data gathering, ideally at the community level.
- Ability to take initiative, work flexibly, and manage competing priorities.
- Minimum conversational comprehension of a language other than English is highly desirable.
- Right to work in Australia or appropriate visa.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks and a current driver’s licence.
