Gambling Harm Prevention

Picture
The Gambling Awareness For Multicultural Empowerment Program aims to empower local residents from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds to understand the harms of problem gambling and be trained to be 'champions' of gambling prevention in the community.

During 2018, the program will:
  • deliver 'gambling harm awareness' workshops to local CALD communities;
  • train community gambling aware 'champions' to act as advocates within the community; and
  • provide culturally appropriate and in-language resources.
We're looking for Gambling Awareness Champions!
AWECC is looking for women and men from Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds to become community 'Champions', helping raise awareness of gambling harm in their families and communities. Our Champions will receive basic training about gambling related harm, how to identify problem gambling in their families and communities, and how to support people who may be experiencing problems associated to gambling.

If you are ready to be a champion for change, or would like to know more about the program, please call us on (02) 6024 6895 or email contact@awecc.org.au
The GAME: Gambling Awareness for Multicultural Empowerment Program is funded by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation until 15 December, 2018.
