Hilmi Ekici
Hilmi is the Secretary of the Albury-Wodonga Ethnic Communities Council (AWECC), bringing a diverse blend of technical expertise, creativity, and community-focused leadership. Originally from Switzerland, he later moved from Adelaide to the Albury–Wodonga region, where he has become an active and engaged member of the local multicultural community.
With a professional background spanning IT and electrical systems, Hilmi brings an analytical and solutions-driven mindset to his work. He is passionate about innovative approaches to problem-solving and is known for exploring practical, forward-thinking ideas that strengthen community capability and collaboration.
In addition to his technical skills, Hilmi is a dedicated community volunteer, contributing his time to initiatives that support inclusion, connection, and cross-cultural understanding. His commitment to service is grounded in a belief that communities flourish when people share their strengths generously.
Beyond his community and technical work, Hilmi is also an online children’s book writer, using storytelling to inspire imagination, curiosity, and learning among young readers.
